One of the 10 finalists in Intel's Make It Wearable (MIW) Challenge, the Nixie is a flyable wrist-worn camera, perfect for the selfie-taking adventurer.
From the minds of Christoph Kohstall, Jelena Jovanovic, and Michael Niedermayr, the device was envisioned as a flying pair of glasses, but has since developed into a wristband that unfolds into a remote-controlled quadcopter.

China's Huawei Seeks to Invest EUR 1.5 Billion in France: Report

The founder of Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei announced Monday plans to invest 1.5 billion euros ($1.9 billion) in France to develop smartphones, the online edition of Les Echos business daily reported Monday.Ren Zhengfei, who met French Prime Minister Manuel Valls in Paris, said Huawei's plan would be carried out over three years.
"Our investments will have a significant impact on our global innovation, while boosting France's competitiveness in new technologies and creating jobs for French talent," said Ren, according to the report.

Even as BlackBerry pivots to focus more on software and services, the company that gained fame for its smartphones is not giving up on its handset business, two senior executives said.After recording a gross profit from its weakened handset operation and with roughly 50 million people globally still using its older-generation BlackBerry phones, there is potential in that business, the executives said.
Their remarks came during a frenetic week when BlackBerry reported a much smaller-than-expected loss and launched its square-screened BlackBerry Passport device.

Gmail, Yahoo Ban for Government Officials Soon With Secure Email Roll-Out

By the end of the current fiscal, 5 million officials will be using government's secure email, which seeks to ban use of popular email services like Gmail and Yahoo in official communication to safeguard critical and sensitive government data.Government has approved the proposal moved by Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) to establish a secure and encrypted email service for government officials.
"We are in the process of implementing this. At present about a million officials are covered by it and we need to scale it to cover a total of 5 million employees. This process will be completed by March 2015," DeitY Secretary R S Sharma told PTI.

OnePlus One Successor Set to Launch in Q2 or Q3 2015; May Be Smaller

The OnePlus One, popularly known as the '2014 flagship killer' smartphone, is all set to get a successor next year.The announcement comes directly from 2 OnePlus executives named Carl and David, who confirmed the One's successor during an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Reddit on Monday.
According to Carl, the OnePlus 2 smartphone can be expected to be launched in Q2 or Q3 of 2015 and is also likely to be smaller than the One smartphone.
