iPhone 6 Plus Review
Make sure to check your iPhone to ensure that you're set up to use voice and data at the same time.
If you're a brand-new owner of Apple's iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus on Verizon, then the cell phone carrier has some good news for you. Great news, actually, given how long its iPhone users have likely been pining for a way to talk on their smartphones and access their data connections at the same time.

The carrier has officially launched its voice over LTE service, or VoLTE for short. If you're using one of Apple's latest devices on Verizon, you'll now be able to browse the Web and play around with apps while you talk—assuming the former isn't too distracting for the latter.
In addition to simultaneous voice and data, Verizon's new "Advanced Calling 1.0" upgrade allows iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users to enjoy what Verizon's describing as "HD Voice." The tweak runs audio on frequencies more matched to the human voice and uses double the audio samples of a normal call to better reflect the nuances of the voice on the other end of the line. It's also completely free for Verizon users to take advantage of, so long as their smartphones support the feature.
"HD Voice delivers clearer, natural-sounding audio when both parties are using HD-Voice-enabled phones that are connected to our 4G LTE network," describes Verizon.
The catch? Both parties chatting with one another have to be using phones that support HD Voice—right now, either the two new iPhones, the Samsung Galaxy S5, or the LG G2. Additionally, both parties have to be on Verizon's LTE network. You can't call an HD Voice-supported friend on Sprint, for example; you'll just get a normal call, not an HD Voice one.
If you're an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus owner, you'll want to triple-check that your device is set up to use voice and data simultaneously. Hit up your iPhone's Settings app, go to Cellular, Enable LTE, and make sure that "Voice & Data" is checked, not "Data Only."
To make sure that you're set up to use HD Voice, load your My Verizon page and hit up the "Change Features" section. If you haven't already added HD Voice, do that—finish the process of adding it to your line, restart your phone, and you'll be all set up for HD Voice.
